We are thrilled to announce a new update to our product that will make it even easier and efficient for you to access and query your knowledge map.

Previously, users could only connect to either the draft or live version of their knowledge map, which posed challenges when refining, testing, and deploying updates. But with our latest release, you can now start a session and query any version of your knowledge map, providing greater flexibility and control.

This new feature offers a range of benefits:

  1. Integration testing - You can now connect your test systems to a specific version of your knowledge map and run tests against it. This can help identify any bugs or issues that need to be fixed before they impact your production system.
  2. Production deployments - You can now lock your production system to a fixed version of your knowledge map, giving you peace of mind that the logic won’t change and you can ensure a stable and consistent user experience.
  3. Troubleshooting -  When something goes wrong, the new feature allows for easier troubleshooting. You can test against multiple versions of your knowledge map to determine the root cause of any problem, facilitating more efficient and effective resolution of issues.
  4. Historic analysis - the latest release also allows you to compare how decisions would differ between current and previous decision models. By running queries against historic versions, you can gain insights into how your knowledge map has evolved over time and how different versions have impacted its performance.

To access this new version control feature, simply refer to our API documentation for detailed instructions on how to integrate with a specific version of your knowledge map. But to let you in on a little secret, all you need to do is include ?version=[x] at the end of the start request. All further operations (e.g. querying) will use that version.

This will not impact any existing API integrations. Where a version is not explicitly requested, it will connect by default to the live version. If no live version is set, it will default to the draft.

We are committed to continuously improving our product and providing our users with the best possible experience. With this latest update, we are confident that you will be able to better govern your knowledge maps, but we’re always keen to hear what else you need so feel free to provide us feedback.
