The query component allows the workflow to make a query against a Rainbird model.
- The action that should trigger the query to start should be connected to the 'In' port. For example, an Inject component.
- The action that should trigger after the query has been completed should be connected to the out port. For example, an email component could be connected if you wanted the workflow to email the results of the query to someone.
Once the Query component has been connected to another component through the 'In' port, the component can be provided with the Base URL of the environment the knowledge map lives in, a Session ID, the Subject of the query, and the Relationship you want the query to run on. You can also specify the subject of the query, but this will normally be left blank, as the query component will typically be used to work out the object of the relationship.
Hints & Tips
- If a 'Start' Rainbird component is part of the workflow, the Base URL and Session ID boxes can be filled in by clicking the 'burger' icon next to the boxes and selecting 'Start: Base URL' and 'Start: Session ID' from the drop down lists.
- The Subject box can also be filled in by clicking the 'burger' icon next to the Subject box, and selecting where in the workflow the subject of the relationship will come from. In the example above, the field of a form in the workflow that gathers a user's name has been set as the subject, so any name a user's enters will be used as the subject of the query.
