There's lots of coverage around ethical AI, particularly around bias and discrimination, but personally I haven't seen too much around AI in the world of sustainability.

This article from Forbes highlights two broad areas where AI can help:

  1. Reducing its own carbon footprint (i.e. the data centres / computing power needed)
  2. Using AI to improve processes such that they are done in a more sustainable manner

Does anyone have any ideas as to where this could be most relevant? Or even any experience/knowledge of projects that have ran / are ongoing?
